Alex Short, "Perception is Reality"
I have never met anyone for the first time and genuinely liked them as much as I liked Alex when we talked after the first workout of the Working Wounded Games. My girlfriend and I hung out with Alex for almost the entire day and it felt like we were long lost friends, so it was great to catch up with him for the podcast interview. Alex Short is an adaptive CrossFit athlete who was born with a congenital deformation of his right hand.
Initially, I planned on interviewing Leenie Quinn again for a post-competition interview, but because of the success of her rugby team, she was unable to attend. Fortunately, we befriended Alex at the competition and he picked up right where Leenie left off in episode 10. Alex talks about his experience playing all sorts of sports while growing up which included soccer, baseball, golf and basketball. He also talks about his participation in the Working Wounded Games in Washington, DC. Alex provides a great message to all athletes that "perception is reality" and he will keep you laughing the entire episode.
Alex attended the University of Alabama and is a huge Alabama football fan. He also earned a masters in Health Administration from the University of South Carolina.
